Being found through unbranded questions

For Tilio, an important question is whether our agency appears when someone explores AI search services without asking about us by name.

Unbranded prompts help us examine that. They start with a need, a service or a supplier search, giving us a way to assess our presence in answers where Tilio has not been named in the question.

This case study follows the change in our reported visibility across those tracked prompts between March and September 2026.

A connected approach

Tilio’s approach brings together three areas: measurement, on-site improvements and off-site work.

  • Measurement

We examine how AI answers questions relevant to a business: who gets named, which options are recommended and what sources are cited. Those findings help identify where to focus attention.

  • On-site

We work on clear service information, useful content, supporting evidence and technical accessibility. The aim is to give AI systems a clearer basis for understanding and describing a business.

  • Off-site

We look beyond a company’s own website at relevant editorial coverage, directories and comparisons. We assess opportunities to improve how the business is represented across those sources.

Together, these areas connect what we measure with practical work on the information available about a brand.

The result

Tilio’s reported unbranded AI visibility was 3% in March 2026. In September, it reached a peak of 27%.

That represents a gain of 24 percentage points, with peak visibility nine times the March reading.

Reading the result

The figures describe Tilio’s tracked unbranded prompt set. They provide a defined view of our visibility during the reporting periods shown.

The comparison establishes a change in reported visibility. It does not isolate the effect of an individual activity or measure referral visits, enquiries or revenue.

We examine mentions, recommendations and citations separately to understand how a business appears in an answer. Those details help turn a headline result into useful priorities for continued work.
