Choosing an AEO agency

AEO, GEO and “AI SEO” now appear on a lot of agency websites, and the quality behind those labels varies enormously.

What this topic covers

Some of it is structured measurement and real content work. Some of it is traditional SEO with a few AI screenshots attached, and the difference is usually visible in the methodology.

Does the agency track a defined prompt set, or show you screenshots? Do they separate mentions from citations? Do they benchmark competitors on the same prompts, on the same platforms, across the same window? Can they connect what the data shows to specific changes on specific pages? And are they honest that nobody can guarantee a mention?

These guides are here to help you evaluate that properly: what good AEO work actually looks like and what the warning signs are, how fair competitor benchmarking is done, and what the published evidence suggests about how far and how fast AI visibility can realistically move.
